I joined to this tour with my 8yo son in December 2019. Chris was warm and friendly guide, and has deep knowledge on the history and nature of south Victoria. We learned a lot from him on the way down to Phillip Island. The tour is packed with visits to interesting and beautiful places but have appropriate free time which we really appreciated. This was one the best load trips in my life. My son were talking about the trip often even now (8 months after the trip). Thank you Chris for your great guide.
This was a well organized full day activity tour with a number of stops. Each stop had adequate time to explore/enjoy. We stopped at Moonlit sanctuary and had plenty of opportunity to feed Kangaroos/wallabees, lots of Koalas to be seen. Lunch was provided at this stop on the tour (food was not great but that was from the Sanctuary, not the tour itself). Next stop was a Sheep farm, then Cowes for Dinner, the Nobbies and finally the Penguin Parade. What a joy those cute Penguins are. We did the upgrade to the VIP Ranger tour and it did not disappoint! Plenty of activity during the day so if you did not care for one stop, another was not far behind...but there was no rushing through. It was well timed. Our guide was pleasant to be around for the day. thank you Sophie!
The tour itself was really great! Got to do a variety of activities and we did not feel rushed anywhere. The penguin viewing was fun, but we actually saw more closely the penguins when we walked back to the visitor center and saw them scurrying back to their borrows for the night. The reason for the loss of one star was some girls on the tour who, after the first stop, basically "stole" our seats on the bus, relegating us to the back.
we had a full day from 10am to 11 30 pm.we covered various sites from an animal sanctuary with lunch ,to tour of farm area on churchill island to the bobbies to finally the penguin parade.we ,luckily, had sara as our guide the entire day.she informed us about what we will be seeing and tidbits of information along the way.during periods of longs drive she played this amazing easy music.i remembered at least 90 percent of the songs;there was no rap so we thoroughly enjoyed the respite.sara stopped at a farm where we enjoyed sheep shearing.it was amazing how she picked up the sheep and sheared the wool off the sheep.shearing requires skill and strength which the young lady had in abundance.we saw a demo on bull whipping and how the dogs controlled the sheep.the dogs ran rings around the sheep to keep them together.it was amazing how they controlled the sheep.the same person who sheared the sheep did the presentation of the dogs.she told us that these dogs could cost 10000 each. she told us the dog could control 200 sheep but for our presentation 25 would do.sara told us to the shore line to observe pyramid rock and to the bobbies where we could walk around the wooden deck to get an up close few of the coast line.finally we made it to the penguin parade to see these guys close up.we sat on bleachers maybe 15 feet from the area of their arrival.the penguins arrived in groups and waddled up the hillside to their home.it was a magical site to see these little creatures make the march obvious to the crowds watching.they made that march and nothing could stop them.sara than took us to out hotels after a long and totally enjoyable day.sara.the tour guide made our day so special.she give up great information and answered all questions.she was delightful.
This is a must do. Sarah went above and beyond. She took us to all the included stops plus made an additional stop at a beach and a back road to view wild animals. The tour was paced perfectly and our guide was very informational. Highly recommend.
Jake was great although riding in the back of the bus not so smooth. However, that would be my only negative. I also highly recommend the ranger guided tour. This tour is well put together and very happy at all we were able to experience!!
This tour was fantastic! Corey, our guide, was great. He picked us up/dropped us off a 1/2 block from our hotel. We were taken to 4 different activities and each one was fantastic. Our objective was to see the Penguin Parade (which was awesome), but along the way we spent time with a koala at Moonlit Sanctuary, enjoyed sheepherding and sheep shearing and petting a horse at Churchill Farm, and the gorgeous view at Pyramid Rock. I would highly recommend this tour!
I had a great time on this tour, augmented by our highly entertaining and informative guide/driver, Stefan. We visited every place listed in the info above, and had plenty of time to see and do everything we wanted for a true Aussie nature experience. Pet a koala (extra charge ) .. check. Feed a kangaroo .. check. See a sheep herding demonstration by a border collie with a mind of his own, watch a sheep get sheared, see a gorgeous sunset at Nobbies, see wallabies in the wild, and of course, see the penguin parade ... check, check, check, and check. And I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed Stefan's rolling commentary throughout the day. It made the time fly by. Thanks, "S". Terry M
